Synopsis!

Kozhikode has for centuries been famous for boat building. Arab families from the Middle East are said to have settled in these parts centuries ago and they have been engaged in the trade all these years. Baraami is the name by which they are known. Ali Bhai is the son of a Baraami by the name of Khalid Ahmad Sahibi. He is the leader of the workers of Kozhikode market, and the film tells the story of his daring exploits.



Ali Bhai, which has been under production for close to one year, is an expensive film with more than a hundred actors participating. Mohanlal plays the lead role of Ali Bhai. The film weaves together historical events and real life characters of today to create a highly engrossing action packed family entertainer. TA Shahid who wrote the script for the film had to revise it as many as eight times to give it the specific nuances that he wanted. Ali Bhai will be Mohanlal's film for this year's Onam.
